How do you split the bass signal to record both direct and miked?
Thanks for the help,

You use a direct box. bass-> DI->1/4 out to bass amp, xlr to mic preamp.

Minicube questions

I found an old direct box called a minicube. The contacts on the XLR out look a little brown. It has two inputs high and low- which do I use for passive bass? And do I send the XLR out into a mic pre(I have an RNP)? Also is this box any good, for getting a good bass sound?
Thanks for the help,
Frank

Probably high - whichever one is louder.

Unless it's too loud. With a passive bass and a few active ones, you should be fine unless it makes things clip. You can either turn the bass volume down, or use the low input if that's the case.

I'm not familiar with the minicube, so I can't help you there.
