Currently I am doing my drum track with PA9 session drummer. That will give me a single drum track.

What is the best way to spilt the drum track to separate midi tracks like hihat, snare, toms, kick and crash?

Pls help!
:)

The only way I know to do this is to copy the Track to a new Track and then go into Piano Roll view and erase everything except one instrument (this is relatively easy to do in Piano Roll as every drum is on its own horizontal plane). You would obviously need to repeat this for each instrument, until you have a seperate track for each one.

CAL for the backup

Search the web for CAL-runtimes (Cakewalk's own programminglanguage).
I know there's a CAL that automaticly splits drumtracks somewhere...

Moskus is right... use the CAL script... but it should be there with what you have on your hard disk, you shouldn't need to get it off the web... comes as part of the Cakewalk install.

al chuck is right, what you want is split notes to tracks.cal.i don't have pro audio loaded anymore but i have done this from within the program in the past.check it out in your help menu and edit menu.as i remember ,it was a pretty simple operation.

thanks guys... never thought I'd have to use CAL. :)

will check that out....

I'll have to look at it also. Sure sounds easier than copying tracks.

That's why I hang out here... always learning.
