I just got a new video card, and hooked up my other monitor, it's great!.... but i can't get that function to work in cubase.... anyone know how to do this??? I can't seem to figure it out. thanks a lot in advance. :D

It would help if you told what soundcard you have, what other equipment you use(mixer?) and what version of cubase you have and what the manual says to do.

the manual didn't say anything about it.... I am using sx 1

anyway, I just took it off full screen and stretched it across both monitors.

I guess this is the best way to do it since the mixer console in cubase doesn't seem to leave the workspace area of the program. This solution works for me... just that it's wierd that the help file window and several settings windows can leave the workspace area of the program, but not things that i use and get in the way, like the vst control panel and mixer etc....

thanks anyway though, nymorningstar :D

Yeah that is a shame .... it's the same with Nuendo. It would be nice if you could float more items off the workspace. Thats one thing I love about n-Track, just about anything can be floated over to another screen away from the workspace ..... Transport, Mixer, Effects, VU Meters, Big Time, Piano roll ... etc...
It's just nice to have some elbow room to work in.

shoot maybe i'll give that a try... it's like, damn... a person spends all this time and a lot of money (if there isn't a demo) and then finds out about little things like this that are lame.

I mean, how hard is it to include that in there...????? anyway, It's cool this way .... just gonna deal with it.

Sorry dopey. Guess I need to slap myself upside the head. When I read this last yesterday I was on the fly and was thinking you said you just got a new soundcard and hooked up your other monitor thinking a sound monitor. DoH!

The driver for your video card should enable these features, not Cubase. I use Cubase SX 2 and I'm able to place my transport on one monitor and my mixer in another, etc. The card driver remembers which monitor I placed it in so the next time I bring up a project, everything is where I left it.

I'm using an Nvidia card and drivers if that helps at all..
