How to set this up?

I just was curious, because within the next few years, I plan to do drastic upgrades. In all the professional studios, they have huge analog mixing boards connected to computers, I was wondering what do I need, from scratch, to connect this, http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=live/search/detail/base_pid/630057/ , to a normal computer. So that i can mix each track seperately and record each track alone. Start from the beginning please?

with respect if you only are recording a couple of tracks at a time you dont necessarily need all those channels. if however you DO EXPECT to record multiple tracks at a time (eg : 4 tracks of drums, bass,guitar,vox etc) you would need a multiple input sound card. assuming that the mixer has direct outs from each mic input channel, you would connect
each direct out to each sound card input.
another option to consider is a lot of folks buy multiple outboard mic preamps which in turn they connect to the multiple input sound card.
do you have a multi in sound card currently?
if you need one at the cheap end consider the maya thru the delta series on up to the rme series which a lot of pro's like (but expensive).
would help if you psted more info on what you want to do - record lots of tracks at once or just a couple ?

I was thinking of like recording drums like, kick, snare, 4 toms, OH, all on seperate channels. Then mix hands on with the analog board, how do I do it, the mixing part especially

If you need such a basic level of instruction there's probably no one here who has the time or the inclination to provide it for you.

Go to a bookstore or if there's not a good one in your area try amazon dot com --- search for books on recording basics.
