I am professional session singer and record vocals at home for clients. 90% of the vocals I record are clean but when I have to record an extremely loud word/line and step away form the mic I get a bit of unwanted echo and the quality of the vocal sounds a bit different.
I use the M-Audio Mobile Pre, blue bird mic, and I also use an se Electronic vocal reflection filter. Does anyone know a way of overcoming this, Is it possible that I am getting a bit of reverb from the room because I am further away from mic? In that case I would have to pad the room out a bit more.
Any help would be appreciated.
