Hello!

I have a new project. Its a rock guitar album (with a few other genre tracks). Its belting screaming Gibson Marshal fore bore solo ROCK! (mostly). Honestly to the standards of Vai and Satriani... no joke, they are amazing.

By the end of the project there will be a 11 track CD album, which we want to promote and sell. I have made an online store using Big Cartel (www.bigcartel.com), I will make a website for the band with clips of the music to listen to... and theres always myspace.

But how do I get people to buy it????

The problem with doing gigs, is its an instrumental band... and generally people want a singer! Its a bit of a niche market.

Any suggestions, thoughs etc would be greatfully received.

Cheers

try selling it for commercial use? i don't know, i am not one to buy that kind of music, so i might not have the best insight. i'd imagine playing in front of dudes that like that kind of music (e.g. at a rock guitar concert) would be a big part of it, but that's coming from someone who mostly buys music at gigs.

here's what you do. Contact music gear manufacturers... get sponsorships... You may even appear in an ad in some music magazine. you'll be marketing mostly to musicians...so just understand your audience... how do you find them, what are they looking for...etc... Basically...instrumental stuff like that is harder to market, but it's very possible.
