The Line input of your computer should be fine, you just need to confugure the soundcard to run properly. The settings can be modified to optimize recording from the line input. If you right click on the speaker icon on your taskbar, a window for those controls should pop up. Once it pops up, change the slider for the line in, input level until the his goes away, and sometimes the CD needs to be disabled from the recording and playback options too. Most sound card have a small preamp that overloads when you put line level inputs into it. I have spent alot of time doing this very samething everytime I get a new sound card...I also have an MD8 hooked up to my PC into the line in of the sound card. Have fun

Peace,
Deenis
