How to make radio drops/shout outs..

How so yeah how could i go about makin like a "drop" or shout out" like new music from blah blah (u know how it is on the radio..) i have some plug ins and ish, but this doesnt seem to do the trick..maybe i'm missing a step...

so ne advice?

I'll take a wild guess: you mean ducking. That's when the music gets softer when the dj starts talking. It's done by using a compressor on the music, with a sidechain that reads the vocal signal.

but, yeah are you trying to get the ducking effect or the phone effect with delay or what!

Sounds like ducking to me. You can either use the compressor/side chain thing or you could just use some automation and have the music levels drop a bit when the shout outs or whatever occur.
