How to link drum hits to midi controller?

I'm experiencing problems ezdrummer(DKFH) , the drum map for drum kit from hell comes with ezdrummer.. however on my 25 key Oxygen 25 the keys aren't set up for certain drum hits.. I'm using Cubase 6 Elements also. As an example if I just use the drum map and plug in my controller .. the kick drum is not directed to any key.. how do you direct the drum hits to the exact key you want?

It's possible the drum is mapped to a higher or lower register key on your controller. Can you switch the controller to a higher and lower octave and try it?

Also, in Cubase, look at the midi score with the piano roll editor and see where the drums are mapped.

Yeah, you need to find what MIDI notes DKFH is using, and assign the Oxygen to send them. I have not used the M-Audio unit, but that is what I did with my Akai MPD18 pad controller. By the way, much easier than using a keyboard. I beat the hell out of it! lol

Thanks again guys, Chili it was the Octaves on my controller.. I didn't know it went into negative octaves.. moving down a couple octaves gave me a better set up with Kicks, snare etc. Jimmy I still haven't figured out how to actually assign certain drum hits to a certain key.. I see them all in the keyboard roll etc.. like C1 (Kick) etc.. but I still can't figure out how to actually assign them. At least this way now I have something to work with.. thanks again guys.

The midi notes that are associated with EZD, are assigned within a drum map. Take note of what note is triggering what sound you want. You need to change the midi notes that your 'controller' is sending, to make it work easily with . Assign the controller keys to whatever note you want to trigger within EZD. Again, I am just assuming there is a way to do that with your keyboard. That is the best way to make it organized as far as I know.

This is a simple program with my pad controller. I just look at the drum map of EZD/ADD and write down the MIDI notes for each sound I want to use. Then open up the AKAI control panel, and assign each pad for which I want to use.

I can make two pads next to each other, send C1 (kick drum). That way I can double finger a double kick part. Snare to the right, and hh right above. I can finger in a double kick beat with hh in one take this way.
