Hi all!

This is my second post on this forum and I am really looking forward to learn much here.

For a couple of months I decided to do some recordings at home. Actually the meaning was to write own songs, but
because I am new at homerecording I decided to to some covers first. But, while doing some songs at home, I Always get this negative feeling, this is ok but never this is superb.
I am actually a guitar player and recently I began to sing.
But to make this story really short I would like to hear from you if you can tell me what I can make it better and how to do it. This is a cover I did, actually the song is a ballade but I kind of remade it to metal :)

I would really appreciate if you could give me some ideas what I could improve. Nevermind the vocal, I am not finished with the vocals in the song above.

Here is Another song that I recorded with my vocal.

Please listen and please come with ideas how to improve my work.

I use only an i7 computer with Saffire Pro 14 and many softh synth plugins
Fender Stratocaster guitar.

I absolutely hate Guns n' Roses, but you did a good job. I'm not good with the e-drums; anyone know how to make them sound more natural?

The bass drum needs a lot of attention - it sticks out as been most synthetic.
The synth strings also sound plastic.
Your voice doesn't sit in the mix & has a fair bit a sibilance to it.
Overall it has an 80's feel to it.
The Nov Rain thing - it's a couple of years old and the synths sound awful - sorry.
Def not a Gunners fan either.

If you want actual feedback, don't link to a crappy wonky sounding youtube clip. Link to a sound file.

If you're just harvesting hits for your clip, you're wasting your time here.

I am not harvesting hits, when I make something I put it on the youtube, that is much easier to get when you need it. I am here because I want to learn how to record at home

Great job getting that 80's sound, if that's what you were going for. I love attempting to re-create sounds by decade, it always produces interesting experiments/sounds. I'm not really into GNR either, but found myself letting this play 'til the end!

Youtube is great for music (and one of the top places people listen to music now, I've heard) BUT they do encode their uploaded files and they can sound pretty plastic if you're not uploading WAV files into your video to begin with.

Go make a soundcloud account, they're free and can handle big Wav files (or hi-res mp3s that are still smaller than 100mb+ youtube videos!)

SoundCloud - Share Your Sounds They have all sorts of accounts, I pay for mine but the free version is still VERY useful!

As wjgypsy told you, make yourself a soundcloud account.
Your vocals and drums could come up a bit.
Your singing is very good, I like your voice.
