For Christmas I am getting a MXL V67 and a ART Tube MP pre-amp. I use N-Track to record, so I need to know what the best way to connect the MP to my computer. I just have the normal SB Live sound card.

What would be the best way to connect the ART to my computer input that will give me the least amount of noise?

Thanks guys.

Right...but what about cables? The ART has an XLR output as well as a 1/4 inch output. My soundcard has a 1/8 inch input. What's gonna be my best bet to go from XLR (or 1/4 inch) down to an 1/8 inch?

1/4" out of the ART to 1/8" in of the SB. Radio Shack makes a cable like that.

Well they sure didn't have one at the store I went to today! I wanted 10' of headphone out from my reciever to 1/8" into a phrase trainer. Had to use a reducer. Noisey!

what Monster Cable do you speak of? I haven't found any Monster Cables that go from XLR or 1/4 inch down to an 1/8 inch.

And will just a normal unbalanced cable from Radio Shack sound good? I wanna get the best sound possible...

Yes, remember that the Line-In on the SBLive is a 1/8" STEREO jack. Make sure you get the proper plug/adapter.

Remember to always record 16bit/48kHz (if you try to record at any other sample rate than 48k on an SBLive it will resample on-the-fly and could introduce artifacts into your recordings.)

I also use N-Track and I'll also tell you that when you're ready, you WILL notice a big improvement by moving up to a true 24-bit card (I have an Echo Mia and an SBLive in my PC).

Go for it!
