ok so i know a decent amount about recording. But i havent succesfully done this vocal effect yet, and i wanted to know if there were any secrets or tips to help. The only way i can describe it is the vocals drop in pitch dramatically and fast. here is an example of what im talking about

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXMu14YlfXs at 1:45 it will do the effect. thanks!!! for your help.

What software do you have? If you have the later editions of Cubase (4 or 5), you can chop the part that you want to pitch bend, put it on another track, bounce in-place and apply pitch envelope to it. If not, you'll need to load the part you want to pitch bend into a sampler and do the pitch bend there. The process itself isn't complicated, but you'll need to tweak it just right to get the desired effect, and that can get tedious.

Pretty sure it can.
But I've been wrong before.
Today, in fact. :)
I have a copy kicking around that someone thrust upon me.
Not legal so I don't use it but I've been told that's the one Ms. Bono used.

i run it through logic 9.
Don't use Logic, but I believe it too has a similar pitch-shift function as Cubase. Barring that, you should be able to cut the portion of audio that you want to pitch-bend, and load it into the EXS-24 sampler.
