Greetings,

I am recording on my computer using Cakewalk. I have a Delta 44 soundcard and a pair of Event monitors. While I have playback for the audio going out to my monitors, I have not figured out how to get the MIDI to them. I have made the Delta soundcard my audio out source from within Cakewalk and yes, the audio goes out to my monitors, but NOT anything MIDI-MIDI sounds still go through my computer speakers. I really need the MIDI metronome click to my monitors so I can hear then during recording. So what am I doing wrong or haven't done to get MIDI playing back on my monitors?

Thanks!

The delta card...as far as I know, ( I have the Audiophile)
does not have midi sounds built in. Do you have another
card or a midi controller/instrument that you can gear up
for the click?

The connection where the computer speakers are plugged in needs to go to the same place the Delta's outputs are going. You need a mixer.

You could also route that output into the Delta, but that'll eat up two of your four inputs.

i usually do my midi parts first and then record them as audio files.....

That'll work, too, but having a mixer is more flexible. I usually leave my stuff in MIDI form until I'm done, cause I usually want to change the patch, or edit the performance a bit.
