Is there a way for LE5 to be able to record audio off of the internet? I'm a new use to this DAW and it's driving me nuts. I'm guessing it's in the way the input bus is set up but I can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try downloading the audio to wherever is convenient then import into Cubase. The track input has nothing to do with it, and should probably be set to "no bus" in the created track so it won't be inadvertently recorded over. The input bus is for recording. You are not recording, you're importing. When all else fails, try taking a peek at the manual.

What is it you are trying to record?

If you just want to record a sample off Youtube, use something like THIS to convert Youtube videos to MP3.

Keep in mind, you are dealing with material that is likely licensed to someone else. Give credits where they are due.

Who is going to sue who? Sounds like the old Abbot and Costello bit,"Who's On First?" LOL!

The publicity from 'stealing' from something that has reason to care, is likely the cheesiest and best way to get somewhere. Where that is? I don't know. It must be really good or funny as hell to get someone to sue you. Ice Ice Baby! LMAO!

Face it: unless the person who is doing the "stealing" is making money off of what they stole, the person being stolen from isn't going to spend any money suing the person who stole. That was a mouthful! LOL! A large portion of the just beginning "rap" guys use backing tracks off YouTube and I don't see any of them getting sued. Reason? They're not making any money! LOL!

I have bands ask for silly movie clip rips all the time for parts in their songs. As far as I am concerned it's on them.

Plus it's not like there isn't a website that will convert youtube to mp.3
