Just got a mixer and have gone from main mix out to the line-in and now i cant figure how to get from my line-out back to the mixer. THe only things i have left on the mixer are...Control room outputs, Tape In and Aux return. I've tried pluging in all of those and cant get a sound. The card is an Audigy..now the line-out says digital/analog so dont know if that makes a difference.
I just want to leave my headphones in the mixer and listen to my internal sound through that.
Maybe its not possible on this card?

well.........

you could take the line out of your soundcard into a stereo channel on your board (assuming that one's open)...just make sure that you mute that channel while doing any recording into your card - otherwise you can set up a nasty feedback loop

It's very possible. I wouldn't go from the mixer mains out to the soundcard though. Drive the inputs of the card from the inserts of a couple of channels from the mixer and as stated, bring the output of the card to two channels of the mixer. Take the mains out of the mixer to drive your monitoring system (speakers). This setup will allow you to record and monitor without setting up a feedback loop.

You may have the line out muted in the computer, because you should have had sound on your aux return and/or your tape in.

Go and check the windows mixer and see.

Also, take Track Rat's advice on the set-up, that is a better way to connect if you have the options on your mixer.

Thanks guys..i'll check it out and see how i go! I cant find a line-out option for my sound card though..so that ones got me stuffed

That's a less than optimum situation. You can use the output that drives your computer speakers. It's pretty low voltage and won't fry anything. This is NOT the case with poweramps.
