I need to edit all the words out of a song. I need this for a school project. DOes anyone know how?

Stereo recording was not available until about 1960.
If you have a Stereo Recording, PCM,44,100Hz, 16Bit without a lot of re-verb (re-verb is out of phase and can't be erased and the more re-verb the more distored the music is as the vocal is removed)
THE SINGER MUST HAVE BEEN \"CENTER\" SPANNED.
You can use a program by MTU called Vogone2. It will erase about 90% of the vocal. This is THE BEST PROGRAM NOW ON THE MARKET. Go to www.mtu.com/ and look for Vogone 2 in the Karaoke Products Page ;)

thx but is there a free demo or trial?

edit: nevermind i found one

I got a kick out of your title... I imagined a process where the lyrical content was removed from the vocal track, leaving only unintelligible utterances...

Try a Radio Shack "Karaoke Mate" ... it has a vocal eliminator setting.
It connects between CD player and receiver ( or PC Line In ) using RCA connectors.

You can try it for free with the vocal remover at www.analogx.com. It's in the music section (or it was a few months ago). Removes centre panned sounds, like Stealthtech said.

Love the avitar Gary. I have a cheap mackie board I bought for small jams. It has a vocal remover on it. Like has been said. If the vocals are panned dead center they work. If there are many effects on the vocals it will caus problems. I was never impressed by my little board. Maybe I need to throw some elvis on it?

F.S.

man i'm happy i got to record my own commercials vs. editing the vocals out of someone elses song
