Hi guys,Ive recorded some backing tracks, rythem guitar only,on track one of a tascam 424,I take this to different venues and play it through an amplifier while I play lead over these backing tracks,I need backup tapes in case anything breaks, can anyone tell me how I can get copies of these tapes, can I copy a single track to a sterio twin casette deck?would a recording studio be able to make copies?I ask these questions because I believe Tascams are not compatable with some copying devices be glad of any help and advice as im very new to this game, many thanks;Ian

Burn it to a CD!

I would say your best bet is to simply take the line out of the Tascam into the line in on your computer sound card and burn the rythmn track to a CD. It would be a better alternative than using a tape that can stretch out or break in the middle of a performance. If you dont have a computer recording software to do this download the program Audacity online, its a free program and it with work well for the situation you are needing to do.
I have used an older program called Cool Edit 2000 myself to copy old records and tapes of gigs with bands Ive been in and turn them into CDs lots of times.
You wouldnt have to drag the Tascam to your gigs either, which is probably rough on it as well. If you need more information ask and I'll try to help you out.
