So basically what I need to do in Cubase is create 4 midi tracks. One for kick, snare, tom1 and tom2. I was wondering how I can assign only one sample sound to the kick, 1to the snare and so on so each midi input gets its own track so I can edit drums easily. I usually create a vst instrument (Ezdrummer) and it attaches a midi track to it. The problem is that the triggers are all going to that one channel and I need them seperated into 4 midi tracks so that bass is all on one and so on. Thanks!

Just wondering why you would want to do this? Is it because you are using the piano roll editor?

Also: What version of cubase.

Would there be an easier way to do this? If so how. If I could return the trigger io then that would save me a bunch of money. And im using cubase 5. I know you can go direct in with the triggers using xlr but how would I sample a kick drum to a kick audio track and so on for all 5 drum triggers?

I answered your more specific thread after realizing this was a duplicate.
