Help with Multiple Soundcards needed... Delta 1010-LT and Soundblaster Audigy!!!

Alright, I just installed my Delta 1010-LT today. I got the card in the system, and Windows XP is recognizing the hardware.

The only problem is that I can't seem to get any recording out of it!! I'm trying to run my Sound Blaster Audigy as playback and my Delta 1010-LT as recording, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I tried switching all the settings for recording and playback in both Windows mixer and Cool Edit, but it doesn't seem to be working.

If anyone has AIM, please contact me online, as I could use some real-time instruction and tech support. :)

My AIM screen name is: RyRy2K.

Someone please help!

Thanks.

Why would you want to monitor with the SB? The DAC's on it will sound much worse than the delta.

If the delta is not working pull out the SB and reinstall the Delta and it will probably work.

I bet the Delta is sharing an IRQ with some other device and they dont like that generally.

So I should monitor and record with the Delta?

I want to keep both soundcards in there, if it is at all possible.

I have Klipsch 5.1 surround speakers, and Delta just doesn't support 5.1 surround sound. :(

Hmmm...

I am in the exact same situation with a different Delta card. I have the RPC for the Roland digital buss.

I could not get the RPC to work with the SB in there. Windows and everything else 'saw' the card but it wouldnt input or output sound. I notived the RPC was sharing an IRQ with another card.

I pulled out both the sound cards and removed all the drivers and audio software. I put the RPC back in and reinstalled Logic Audio and it worked fine after that.

Do what I suggest to get your delta running. Then reinstall the SB and see if they can live together peacefully. I haven't put my SB back in yet and I miss the rear Klipschs.

So you couldn't get it to work at all the first time? I think I'm going to try a few more things before I scrap it all and reinstall everything.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

I just tried switching the playback device to the Delta instead of the SB Audigy, and I'm getting no sound from it.

I am totally lost...

There are so many cords on this soundcard, and I am very inexperienced with recording equipment. Hopefully, I'll be able to get both cards working eventually...

All I want to do was plug a mic into the Delta's Mic-pre and record in duplex in Cool Edit!

If there are any other delta 1010-Lt users out there, please holler at me with some words of advice...

Thanks.

I'm pretty experienced and I tried a lot of tricks but only what I recomended worked.

It only takes 20min to do. If you find a better way please let me know.

I'll think about it, but I've heard stories of people who installed the SB Audigy after the Delta, and they said that the SB causes a lot of problems because it assumes that it's the only card in the system...

I'll get it working somehow...
