I was just wonderin' how much you guys sell you beats for(if somebody wanted to buy 'em of course).I know that there are alot of variables ,but in general....how much would you charge.......just curious.

For exclusive rights for a regular newbie doing a demo between $100 - $500 bucks.....

Leasing is about $25 - $200

I usually don't sell beats, you just gotta be down and you can get em for free. But my man brought these two girls by last weekend and they wanted me to produce a concept. you know, "I got an idea and I want the drums to go like this" I hate doin that shit, I used to watch my sister stress out with mufuckas on that shit, but I did it anyway cause I could play better than them and they could sing reeal real good, it was easy as hell! No stress and I charged $50 for it. That was my first sale. They were so happy, they want me to do another one, it's okay cause we're all involved in this larger project together.

I commended my partner for bringing me some paying, honest customers cause cats around here would rather steal than pay for so I just don't deal with em. If this keeps up, I'll have to up my prices

But for now, we all just workin.

Fuck that........I don't sell shit....mostly cuz I rap myself and I just can't see my self giving up one of my bangaz just so some corny mutha phucka can make it sound dumb......I sit on all my beatz, even when catz start offerin outrageous prices........................lol........they think I be playin n shit when I be like, "Doggz, aint shit you hearin fa sale I tellin you now!!!".....................But thats just me.......A rapper/producer that's so stingy with his production, even though I may never get a chance to rhyme over all the beats I got......................


Now sellin catz my whack jointz(one's I wouldn't rap on), that's another story. I just feed them some bullshit describing every little detail that went into creating the beat(without mentioning that it only took 10-30 minutes to complete), and they just be like,"Damn you know your shit!!!!!" and offer way more than I would have expected ......I love it!!!!..........When it comes to this business, you just gotta know how to talk to people and sell yourself first, then they will feel like they are getting an incredible deal for even the most half-assed of your productions!!!!!!

if you are selling your tracks, make sure you and the buyer have a written agreement for up-front money, production royalties, and publishing percentage . If you don't know what I am talking about, you'd better research these subjects before selling anything.
