How much should I ask as a producer?

Hi,

I will be running my recording studio not for a rent-business type but as a producer.
I'm trying to find some singer/songwriter who wants to work with me collaborate in making music. I am gona be the one man band, recording engineer and of course the producer. The other person will do the writing and singing. I might also do some minor changes on what he/she composes. I will be doing all the tracking, mixing and mastering.
Then after each track is done, we will do the publicity like posting on youtube and then uploading it on itunes for download. I am not charging any of these.

Question 1: how much should I ask for royalty percentage if the track is selling?
Question 2: is this a good or typical way in doing the sharing business?
Question 3: what happens to me as the producer if somebody strikes a deal with our music?

Can't you agree on 50/50 to start with til you get a better idea of what's involved? Both of you win that way to begin with

Have you ever "produced" something before?

the last thing you should worry about right now is royalties haha.
