I use an aw16g. I am somewhat happy with it, but i am thinking of upgrading to one of the higher models. Is it worth it? Who else has a yamaha DAW??? Do you like your models?

I own the AW16G, and I just can't say enough good things about it. This awesome little SIAB does everything I want it to do - even much more - and my only regret is within not having the time that I would like to have to spend with it. Yes, yes, yes - I like it a WHOLE lot.

Blessings,

Nate.

I'm with Nate--the 16G is really quite an unbelievable machine for under $1K (even under $900 in my case). When I think of my studio work in the past, which cost me so much money and gave me so little control, and then see my 16-track Yammie- -with dynamics processing on every channel and good effects and a 4-track sampler and a CD burner and on and on--I feel only gratitude for the fast pace of technology and for Yamaha's thoughtful (efficient, friendly, affordable) design.

From all I've read and heard, I'm guessing that all three of these DAWs are superb. The only question is one of current needs and money--which unit is best for you/me today? I won't be surprised if I move up to a higher Yammie model in a few years, but for now,
I'm able to produce some quality stuff--complex 16-track arrangements--with excellent results on the inexpensive 16G.

And the dedicated www.aw16g.com support site doesn't hurt either.

Here's a toast to wise Yammie owners, whatever their model!

I just paid 1400 euros (=$1500) for a a used aw4416 with 20GB HD and an external Plextor CDRW. It'll arrive today or tomorrow and replace my old Fostex VF16.
