I'M BLESSED.......
How many MC's in here use vocal booths in their studio?
How is that working for you? I was thinking of having a dude build some type of booth for me, I am doing research on material an such. I have been without a booth since day one, I never felt the need because it's just for a little hobby. But then Pops pulled me aside the other day and was like "Son, if you're gonna do something, do it right!".....(He's a perfectionist but he's right) I finished my whole basment and I am looking to get one built. I was just curious about how many of you guys really don't care and are only interested in making the music.Because if I really felt that way, I wouldn't have ever invested in a good set of monitors.....That's my other question" Why get good monitors if your room isn't treated? It defeats the purpose! Right?Hi_D_Ho_Man said:https://homerecording.com/bbs/attachment.php?attachmentid=4152
Only difference now is that the balnkets are doulbed up on the inside so you don't see the PVC pipe. And i hang a black light from the ceiling bar ( got that idea from Jug)
works pretty good for some of the room noises out.
Frontier Design put out a remote DAW controller so you can run your session from the booth. it cost $200 which is really good if it works like they suggest.

chalin27 said:I dont use one and really I dont need one. Alot of times you can over do it and kill your vocal recording it's better to just sound treat your room for recording. If you cant treat your room then place your Mic in the middle of the room. Before I went to school I did the closet thing the blanket thing and payed for studio time where I recorded in a both. My recordings are better than all of those things I tried.

Change of POETS said:I have a booth. I wouldn't record without one. I recorded 90% of my last album in here, and not one person has been able to figure out which 2 songs I didn't record in my home studio. They sound just as good as the songs I tracked at the professional studio.
Well, it's semantics really. You call it a sound treated environment, I call it my vocal booth..lol...chalin27 said:This looks more like a sound treated area than a booth unless you took it apart for the pic? When I was in maryland I had a room a little bigger than that area I sound treated in a similar way.
