Hi,
I've been wanting to switch to a non-separate portable media player/recorder for a while, but for various reasons am not satisfied with any of the alternatives to minidisc that are currently available.
I noticed the other day that there are now 1GB MD recorders around, and was wondering if anyone knows what the capacity (in terms of minutes) is for 1 GB, at the equivalent of the MDLP2 speed of the Sony MD recorders (I've found that an 80 minute disc, recorded at MDLP2, thereby making it 160 minutes, provides an acceptable compromise between loss of sound quality and maximizing space).
I've also heard that the newer 1GB Sony MD recorders do away with the ridiculous 3 song limit in the software, which is the reason that I have never used the software. I record directly to MD from my CD player.
