wondering if there's a few experienced fruityloops users here as i just got it and like this forum better than the one at fruityloops.....

Fruity Looper here....what style ofmusic are u doing?....

totally into black metal but might actually play/record something else...a few things; have'nt been able to export a pattern as a .wav to use in cooledit. went through the steps but it just does'nt do it (win95 here). tried to import something from cooledit and beatslicer came up (saying it was a demo version)....so i can't seem to get anything (.wav) in or out!
also, i see how to add fill-ins to a pattern within the playlist but how do u for example; connect two of the tutorial samples end to end to make a longer pattern? i tried to but whenever i opened a second pattern the first one (in the playlist) disappears. ugh

I'm not sure I understand that last part. Are you trying to extend the pattern to be mroe then 16 beats/clicks? Or are you trying to make a 2 pattern alternating song, and cna't get it to alternate. You have to use the little "loop" switch, and draw out your playlist in the playlist.
I'm not sure that will help, but I will do my best, I know my way around that program well.

Are you using the shareware or have you registered....the shareware has limitations.....

try and rephrase; ok, i open up the first tutorial pattern...click on the song/playlist and see it all marked out...how do i take the second tutorial pattern (or any) and stick it on the end of the first so the first plays through then goes right on to the second pattern? from what i keep getting it seems as though only one pattern can be played in the playlist as everytime i open up a second pattern the first one is REPLACED by the newly opened pattern.
i have registered. i also can't import or export to .wav....thinking i might've been better off with pcdrummer.
also, when i first checked out the forum at fruityloops i saw a thread that started off with someone commenting on the bad attitude there....i agree as i felt it from the beginning and it's the ONLY place where u get a hard time for asking a question.
ahh, i just exported a pattern to cooledit. but when i tried to import a .wav i got the beatslicer window which is a demo...surely there's some little detail that i'm missing....
how does it import .wav's when all it looks fro .flp files? maybe i found the catch...i have to buy beatslicer now!

You're actually opening a whole new song when you do that. I understand you're problem. The only way to do what you're talking about is to copy and paste the second tutorial file (by copying each instruments track and recreating the playlist) into a new pattern slot on the first tutorial. I know that probablyt doesn't make all that much sense, and it might not even work, cause the 2nd tutorial file may have different settings on the instruments. You shouldn't have to buy Beatslicer, I export WAV's all the time and then put them together using Nuendo, and occasionally Wavelab. I am not sure what you're doing exactly that brings up beatslicer. For an example of something I created completely in Fruity Loops and Nuendo check out

(Now thats a shameless plug) Someones doing the vocal track for that as we speak (i hope).
Importing a WAV you just have to set the directory the program can find the files in. They'll show up in the sample list on the left under trhe directory you set.
Do you understand how the different paterns inside each fruity loops song works? Within each song you have an unlimited amount of patterns. Theres the little telephone-esque pad at the top right that shows the first 9 along with an LED thing that says what number. Maybe you should just skip those tutorial things and delve straight into making your own song. Experiment. PC Drummer may have been a better choice for you, but it is not even close in capabilities. I can maybe help you out on some black metal stuff in fruity loops if you'd like, the singer in my band is huge into black metal. Give me an email and we can discuss that off of the board. Any other questions (i know i probably didn't answer any) keep the post coming.

thanx for this but importing again...i click import then i get two options; beatslicer and rebirth. the first is a demo and rebirth seems to work. going that route i can go into my cooledit files but as the flp import box only accepts/looks for files with certain extensions (no wav"s) none of the wav files appear in the box...dead end. do i NEED another program? wavelab?
i guess the net's busy as i get errors trying to listen to that sample.......... black metal is it....the music of the northern mystics....vampyric black metal makes me swoon with deja vu.......
