I have always thought we should cut everything off at least below 80-100hz on every instrment&vocal except for bass and kick.
Ok, so I did it. Sounds thin on my Tannoys, but I know Tannoys are bass-shy anyway. So, I did a test, acoustic guitar and vocal, cut everything below 90-100hz, played it back in my car with no bass boost. Guitars sound thin, and vocal sounds boxy....
Boost the bass on my car system, sound almost acceptable (bass-wise), but less definition
Now I'm confused
I thought 80hz and below can only be heard by our body, not ears, but why is there such a sonic difference to my ears??
BTW, I used waves 3band EQ and Timeworks EQ.

Humaniods can actually hear down to about 40hz or so. Atmospherical disturbances of 35hz or so, and lower can be felt in their chest cavities.
