I heard some poofter arse at Mars talking to this guy about powered monitors warping due to heat, and that if his last for more then 3 years he will be happy. excuse my ignorance on the heat transfer within powered monitors, but i believe this guy is full of shit. i assume monitors should last upwards of 10 years just by design. i understand maybe in highly intensive use after long period of time the cones might rip. but thats like every speaker. anyway, any old farts out there have a pair of monitors that have kicked the bucket on them?

Hey K.... "poofter arse" was probably an accurate description of the guy.... heat dissipation HAD to be part of the design spec for any powered monitor - not so much because of "warping" the monitors, but if there were too little dissipation, the internal amps would overheat and fail...

I have a pair of JBL 4311's that are going on 20 years, I suppose, and they'll kick the shit out of any Monitor 2's, etc. Some say they are harsh...I say they get loud without clipping....screw the nearfields!!!

I bought a pair of 20/20bas from 8th street 4or5 months ago and already sending one in for repair tweeter and amp chip at least thats what they said. But this sux big time! Thinking I made the wrong choice now.

Hi, "poofter arse"? Thats great, I love that.

My 10 year old Tannoys sound as good as ever, and
I fire those boys up every day. Who the hell
would buy a product thats gonna die in three years?
