How is the Avalon M5 mic pre?

I would like to get the 737 but I can save about $600.00 by going with the M5. How does it sound???? I know that it isnt a tube pre but I dont mind, I know Pdlstl has one. I seen it in his studio pics...

I believe Richard Monroe has an Avalon solid state pre, the dual pre I believe. He'll tell you all about it - I think he loves it.
