Hey nizzles,

Wondering if Echo Audio's MIA sound card is any good. As far as numberof inputs go and it's capabilities, the card is pretty much what I'm looking for. But how are the preamps and overall sound quality of the card?

I will sometimes be plugging mics directly into it, sometimes sending a mixer's outs to it, and from time to time inputing tracks prerecorded on either a Korg D16 multitracker, a 4-track, minidisc, CDs, you know, whatever has the sounds I want to use.

My mics are the usual assortment of cheap ones I find at shops. SM57s, Marshall 2001, DAK electrets, Radio Shack PZMs, etc. And I work in Vegas (for now).

Any help is appreciated.

I'm running a Mia and an SBLive in my PC and I am having great success with them.

Be VERY VERY sure to visit Echo's website and check the FAQ section to make sure your Mia will work with your motherboard/chipset. I've had a number of people ask me about problems and they had bought the card without checking to see if there were any incompatibilities with their system (which is good advice for ANY pro soundcard by the way.)
