How good is Yorkville YSM1p

I bought a Yorkville YSM1p for several years based on the positive feedbacks on this forum.
I would like to improve my system (I got the yorkville to listen music instead of mixing).

However, I would like to know how good exact is Yorkville YSM1p?
Let's say Dynaudio BM 5A, how does it compare to Yorkville YSM1p?
How about ADAM A7 / A5?

I've used Yorkvilles in the past. Not a bad product. But, I believe the Yorkville doesn't compare to an Adam 7. I bought a pair of Adam monitors a short time back.

When you're "mixing" tracks to burn a CD, quality of sound and, of course, how you use your gear, would be quality Adam stuff. However, I guess you can record and do Yorks and still get by.

I have no idea how a pair of 20k monitors would sound like? But, I would say that type of price is clean as it might be.

I've also used KRK passives and someone bought these from me in two days, by accident. But, active speakers may perform better "most of the time."

I use 'em, but I don't know any better. Actually, I find some of the few more expensive monitors I've heard to be too pretty sounding. The Yorkies seem to be able to tell you what you've got, once you get used to them. But they are not pretty sounding.
 
My philosophy is you learn your monitors and eventually, you'll find your mixes "should" be getting better and better. I'm using a pair of Tannoy Reveals (old red face) and still love them. Not much in the way of bass, but I've learned to compensate - while not overcompensating. I just find them to be real in regards to the sound.

Haven't used the Yorkies or any higher end monitors, just offering my opinion which translates to: have you been able to make good mixes on the Yorkies, and if so, do you really need an upgrade? Sparkly new gear is always fun to aquire, but have you really mastered what you already have?
 
I have a pair of YSM1p and I find they work great.
But like any monitor your ears will get used to the way they sound and like one just said you do compensate for them. But then the room is also a factor.

But then after the mixing etc I play the tracks on other speakers to see how it sounds after.

Just to put it in the real world.

I have a pair of your Yorkies as well for the last 10 years and a set of the first Monitor one"s which use for out monitors for my Digi 002 and my your yorkies monitor from the board for mixing. I like the yorkies because they are pretty flat and not pretty until you get the mix just right.
 
I did a home test for both these too...YSM1 and the Dyn's and it was a fun weekend.

The Dyn's were better imo. I recall they(DYNS) sounded the same across a wide range of music types..(which made them the "winner" imo)

but I record myself and its pretty much same guitar/drum garageband shit type music.
so the difference was minimal and the benfit of swapping music genre was more for a pro studio, or studio for hire that needs to be open to all music types.

and even better yet I tweaked my YSM1's to match the sound of the DYN's even close by having them side-by-side. :D

so in the end, i didn't hear enough difference to justify spending the extra money as I'm a broke mofo.

2nd edit...this got me looking at that old post. I noted the Yorks were set to 3db (2nd notch past center) to match the DYN's volume. The LF was set to E and the HF was set to the B setting...and my ports were plugged with some acoustic foam.

I still lust for some DYN's now and then for no other reason than its gear lust....and haven't had the pleasure to hear the ADAM's.

I'd probably save up and get BM6's or something if you want a WOW! upgrade.
