how does the M-Audio Delta Series compare against other recording soundcards?

as I didn't see M-Audio mentioned on homerecording.com

You didn't see it mentioned?? Where did you look??:D

Do a search, lots of people on this BBS use M-audio soundcards...

The search function is still broke I think...

If you'll notice, there is a "Computer Recording and Soundcards" forum a ways down from here. I'd say that m-Audio is mentioned in one of every 5-10 threads. The Delta series and the Audiophile are the most popular soundcards used by people around here!

On an aside, I just upgraded my Delta44 to a Delta1010....oh yeah!!!

I just upgraded from a SBLive to a Delta 1010. My "oh yeah" out weighs your's Slack!

BTW I was surfing the web ring and came across your site-you made a very nice upgrade. When are the pictures going to be up?

Hey Slack, how do you like the 1010? I have a lex mpx1 & have wondered if I could get the signal in & out of a delta via spdif, kinda like using the lex as a plugin?, I dunno, wadda you think?

imotic sorry to "hijack "your thread, I have a delta 44, & its really nice, though I've never tried anything "pro", I went from a turtle beach montego to the delta, & there was a major difference,

i have a delta 1010, i love it. it has very good recording and playback quality

hokypokynose, thanks for checking out my site! I just put the new one up...been wanting to for a long time but I've been lazy. Now I just have to add that "conent" stuff everybody is talking about :) I already have the pics, but I'm not sure if I want to use them on the new site because they're old. I might have to break out the digital camera but that takes sooo much effort (god i'm lazy...and I'm not just joking either...that really is a lot of effort to me, hehe)

shread, I like the 1010 a lot so far. The only downside is that everything is on the rear of the unit, including the +4/-10 switches. I guess that's cool for a fixed installation though. I think what you're wanting to do should work, but I don't have any SPDIF gear. Oh yeah, another downside is that the SPDIF connectors are on the PCI card and not the box.

steve, I haven't heard the echo or aardvark stuff, but they're all in the same league. If you do a search in the soundcard forum you will see some people complaining about aardvark for a few reasons, and an aardvark rep has responded a couple times. I hardly ever see any posts there about echo/event gear anymore for whatever reason....never really read anything but good stuff about their gear though.
