Hey, I was wondering how my snare drum sounds?
On my speakers at home it sounds nice, but any input to what would make it sound better would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

yeah, and if that link doesnt work, just copy it into your adress bar and paste it there... thankkss

Sounds pretty good to me! I guess the question is, what are you trying to fit it into? (certain styles, songs, etc.?) How'd you record it?

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing, but didn't know how to comment on it. I think it's a really good sounding snare on it's own. But depending on the style of music and the mix it will be part of, it might need more bottom or it might need to be compressed a bit, etc...

Hey, thanks for listening to it...
im going to be recroding a rock/punk album...
Maybe, im being too critical, but doesnt it sound a little dull? Like, it needs some air/ high end? maybe im crazy, but it sounds a little too .. dull!
not much done to it except a lil eq and reverb

i dont have a complete set of microphones, so i cant record an entire set just yet, but i wanted to make the snare is nice for when i do record... and i will definetly be compressing it before its put into the track...

I didn't think it lacked high end. But it's hard to say because you were playing more kind of military. I'd like to hear it as you're sitting at your kit playing a beat and hitting it the way you'd be hitting it on 2 and 4. It might have lacked a bit of "crack", but that might be because of the way you were playing. I think with a bit of compression and hitting it with some authority, it will sound fine.

Hey, yeah youre defintely right. I was playing like ALL rolls lol. When i was done recording, i was like, crap its all rolls, no quarter notes! I gotta record tommorow playing a steady beat with the whole set, and see if i can get a nice sound. thanks everyone!!!

what snare is that drumminsnowman?
