WHAT DO YOU NEED TO CONNECT YOUR STEREO INTO YOU COMPUTER???...I NEED TO KNOW BECAUSE I WANT TO RECORD SOME OF MY MIXED TAPES INTO A CD..

PLEASE HELP

THANKS

Very popular question..

You need a cable. An 1/8" stereo male to 2 RCA mono's. Connect the 1/8" stereo male to the line in on your soundcard. Connect the other 2 ends of the cable to the outputs of your tape deck.

Launch your recording software of choice, set levels and hit record.

With the resultant wav file - burn it to CD-R.

hey...do you know where i could find that kind of cable? do you know any online stores that sell that. or can i find it at any local computer store?

thank you

Enter, one of the things Radio Shack is good for... they'll have the cable you need.

Yup, radio shack is good for the basic stuff. You might at some point want to get familiar with a real electronics shop in your town. The dirty one that smells like cigars. The more you get into recording and music in general, the more trips you'll be making for various parts. The better stores will sell the higher end stuff and the staff will be knowledgable...in other words, you CAN ask them questions without receiving the RADIO SHACK DUMB-FOUNDED STARE OF DEATH.
