How do you turn a 10k pot into a 100k pot?

You can't just add a resistor in series. That would result in a pot that goes from 100K to 90K, not to zero.

Why don't you just order a 100 K pot?

Lowering values can be done, but if it is a log pot, the curve will not be right. With a linear pot, it's easier.

what cyrano said.

Just order one ..... they're not much.

In fact, I gotta get one myself to fix a Digitech rackmount thingy.

Stupid uncommon 100k pot.
Something more normal I could just yank from some of my other non-functioning gear.

Put it in baggies and sell it for 10 times what you paid for it?

(Sorry, I just couldn't resist...)

Just order one? Nope...not for a late 80's Soundtracs desk...$20 a pop I believe and I need 4 of them...

Arg.

Plastic mini 'D' shaft...log b taper...:mad::(

Omeg brand...UK...

I got a quad of 250K pots that are totally surplus for me- if you can use them, wanna cover shipping and have or expect to have something I might need one day, I can throw 'em your way. PM me, and wait until I get around to checking my PM's.

Sincere thanks...don't think that'll work though since they are a log taper and 100k...3 of 8 shafts are busted for one of 6 aux sends in the group master section...it'll bug me to not have them match.

I believe I'm going to do what I've had to do in the past with an unobtanium pot with a broken shaft...transplant a shaft from a different pot.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought it meant how to turn a $10,000 pot into a $100,000 pot. oops...

Maybe I'm not doing the math right, but why don't you order 8 100k pots so at least that section will all match?

(it seems like a lot of work to replace four pot shafts, and you still have to find the donor pots right?)
