So I finaly thought I’d try the track copy fuction to bounce some stuff but... It's not working.

So am I doing this wrong?

Can't get input monitor light to show TRK COPY!

I'm holding it down and everything.

using a low-hour XT20

Whats the dilly' yo?

This is really sad, no one seems to be able to help me.

What I guess I mean by asking this question is:

Is this just a feature that only works if the light-pipes are unplugged or auto-record on or something funky like that?, or Should I (or do I need to) get my ADAT repaired so the track copy function will work?

Track Copy

Parkbirds,

The Track Copy button should illuminate no matter what. At least it does on my XT. The manual simplifies the process. While holding down the track copy button, press the record enable for the source track(s). When they are chosen, release the Track copy button. This returns the channel REC and Input indicators and Record Enable buttons to their normal status. At this point, you can record-enable the destination tracks.

Download the Adat XT20 manual from alesis if you haven't done so already.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I've read the manual long before posting on this board. And I've re-read it many times.

I hold down the "Track Copy" button just as I hold down the "Digital Input" or "Analog Input" when I'm selecting those. The only difference is the Input Select area on the bottom right of the screen NEVER lights up and shows "TRK COPY." It never switches the screen to let me choose tracks to be source material from the tracks that I want to record on.

So it simply acks as though the Track Copy button is not even being pressed........ So I get this part---->

"While holding down the track copy button, press the record enable for the source track(s). When they are chosen, release the Track copy button. This returns the channel REC and Input indicators and Record Enable buttons to their normal status."

But see I can never get to this point to begin with. What could be cuasing this problem?

I didn't mean to assume you were without a manual. That status light should come on no matter what.

Maybe you were right in your previous post....time to have the unit serviced.

Okay,

Well I guess I'll drive her across the bay to go to the shop. Gives me an accuse to go to Marin county. I hope it's a fast silly fix. Wish me luck!

Thanks everyone!
