I know that Scott Phillips plays on a Premier Signia Marquis.. I do agree that the drum sound on weathered is really good..probably just mic selection and effects.

probalby world class drums tuned by world class drum techs engineered by world class engineers using only world class microphones through world class preamps through a world class board to a world class medium.

I agree with fenix. That PLUS the fact that Scott is a seasoned veteran drummer who know how to play the drums correctly, i.e. hitting them in the proper spots, same velocity, etc.

His sound probably depends on the type & size of his sticks as well as the thickness of his drumheads.

Couple that with incredible songwriting and you have Creed. Not everyone's favorite band, but undeniably some killer rock players. Good chops + Good songs = Bands that will be around for a LONG time

I think its that greased Singer and his Christ posing and SUPER OVER INFLATED SELF IMAGE that channels into each drum hit and makes it all sound really good.

Or that the drummer is really short like a small troll and is constantly pissed about it so he hits his drums nice and hard.

Or maybe not...

he uses real old drums (balsa) with taped up skins, and fisher price microphones, and it's all captured with windows sound recorder through a fostex 4 track from 1987.
