How Do You Position The Guitars In The Mix

I've read on some forum somwhere some advice that went " us the waves s-1 to make the guitar sound like they are behind you." I have the waves s-1 and cant figure out how to do this. I want to pan 2 rhythm guitars behind me lleft and right and bring the solo lead in in front off center a slight bit left or right. is this possible?

Sure it is possible. ...but I think the S1 is more suited to spreading and/or adjusting your stereo field on a stereo track or mix. I'd think the use of different reverbs would better simulate the *forwards and backwardsness* of instruments in a mix. ...dry--up front in your face...and wetter/darker verbs--further back.

But..re-reading your post...."behind you"...sounds like a need for a surround sound system....or a very reflective back wall!!
