Ok guys, I need your help here (again :D ).
I know recording knowledge and wisdom is obtained by years of reading, trial and error, and experimenting.
I know many will tell me to buy books, but where I live, I have no access to such specialized material.
So all I'm asking is if someone can help me understand the following aspects:

1) How do you masterize a song?
2) What is to masterize?
3) Can you do it with CEP 2.0?

Since I have no books at my disposal, any website reading you could refer me too will be much appreciated....and if you are kind enough to give me some highlights, it would be even better.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!

Here's a very basic link that explains what mastering is:
http://www.pcmus.com/mastering.htm

Harmony-Central's matering tips:
http://www.harmony-central.com/articles/tips/10_essential_mastering_tips/

Direct link to a mastering article written by Bob Katz- VERY good read.
http://www.tcelectronic.com/media/bobkatz.pdf
Link to the page I got that from: http://www.tcelectronic.com/Default.asp?Id=1459

That should get you started. There are no rules for mastering and there are no easy tricks that work with everything. Best to read what you can and start experimenting.

Take care,
Chris

So the term is "mastering".
Forgive my vocabulary. My native tongue is spanish ;)

Thank you Chris for the links you provided. I'll get into reading asap.
Rep for you mate.

Cheers!

Hello nico!
Take your time you need. I don't know if this is going to be consolation but I've been recording and mixing for a 5 years and still haven't mastered one single audio. The mixing part is huge and I wouldn't rush to next step before I felt safe on this part.

And by the way, your English is excellent (seen from my corner of the view)

Thanks for your comment Sikter.
Just finished reading the first two links, and I definately understand what you're saying. I felt so amateur and ignorant.
Mixing is for sure a very different thing than mastering.
I guess I can't run before I walk, and to be honest, I'm still having a lot of trouble trying to use compression  on individual tracks.
I'll keep on reading and see what I can do in the future.
Cheers!

DON’T READ IT nico!
THAT’S BRAINWASHING !!!

If you have access to this forum, then you have access to the world. Almost every book on the planet can be ordered online. Here is a book seller, http://www.amazon.com/...and they ship worldwide. Just search for Mastering.
