first off....pick your battlefield
theres so many terms for "production company" that you need to specify what you want.....next is....do you want to be underground or legal....if you want to be legal..take 300 bucks and go down to the chamber of commerce and get a business license..this entitles you to federal grants and loans to help get it started. if your looking to for a beat production company then you need to put together a decent studio package. if you have beats ready to go then a really quick way to get your beats out there is to put an ad out at music stores in the area and in the newspaper. if you know any club owners that allow hiphop contests in the area.....talk with him about having a rap battle night (something like 20 bucks to enter and the winner gets 200 bucks or something) if you already have a pa and/or some dj equipment...or know some djs with decent skills then this a definite easy money venture. WHICH BRINGS ME TO BOOKING! booking can be considered part of the production process also. if you can make beats, get rappers to record on them and then turn around and book them shows.....you've become a full service production company (remember to order t-shirts, stickers and be sure to make a banner stating your production company name and logo.) it all starts with pounding the pavement and getting your name and idea out there. COPYRIGHT THEM BEATS!
