how do i sell music downloads online???

hi, im in the process of setting up a website for my music, and i was wondering how i can set it up so that people can buy my music downloads from the site. im using netfirms to host my site, so i upload my files to netfirms and they appear on my website, but an mp3 is too big to upload. also i tried zipping individual songs and also zipping a whole album but (of course) its still too big. do i have to store them elsewhere and make a link?

anyway, any help will be welcome. thanks.

Hey, others may disagree...but I believe cdbaby.net is a wonderful place to sell your cds on the internet. Sure, you lose some money off each sale, but they handle EVERYTHING for you. It saves major headaches! Also, they send your cd out for digital distribution. Your cd will be on sale at itunes music store. Of course, none of this will work if you don't purchase a bar code for your cd. If you have excellent music to offer, opportunities may come up from people browsing the site. A local philadelphia female indie artist got signed to a label in Europe because someone from the company found her on cdbaby when he was browsing through the site. Also, one hint I could give those who are going to use itunes...add your music to a playlist with other popular artists. Submit them to the itunes music library. There is now a chance that someone could stumble upon your music while searching for a similar artist.

there are two options

1. you pay a monthly fee and keep all the profits

2. you pay no monthly fee and pay 15% of the sale

the second option may suit you best
