how do I remove midi program changes for a midi clip I import?

...so i can assign a new soft synth instrument to the clip? Thanks.

update - that may not be the correct terminology. When I load a soft synth to play a midi clip in Sonar Producer, I am not able to try different sounds or instruments - it keeps reverting to the same one over & over. I hope that's more clear...thanks.

Go into the Event List (Views > Event View/list)

Select the Midi track number and delete any prog change data

The midi clip output is usually to Microsoft GS Wavetable (or other). If you change the midi clip output to the soft synth you want, it will play through that with the selected instrument
