i have quite a gd condenser mic. Where is the best place to mic an upright piano up?

I have been wondering the same thing--I tried micing my upright but need a fabric filter to get out some of the clicks from the hammers hitting the strings--

Generally speaking, dynamics are better for upright pianos; use several in different places to get a good sound.

dynamics? i disagree
normally they are miced with two condesors in stereo, one towards the bottom end one towards the top so as the notes rise in key they move in the stereo field a little from left to right
very common

I agree with hotatters. I wouldn't use dynamics.

mic an upright from the rear - a pair of small diaphragm condenser mics aimed at the soundboard.

pull the pno out from the wall, if it's against it, and do what little dog suggested....or use your one condensor a couple feet back.
