How do I hook up my Fostex?

I have a Fostex G16 and want to record a lot of tracks at the same time.
I dont have a suitable mixer yet but before I buy one I need to know what options it needs. I want to plug in the instruments into the mixer but how do I connect the Fostex to it? Do I need to get a mixer with 16 outputs? Some say it can be done by routing it through the busses but this doesn't ring a bell for me. Most of the reel to reel technics doesn't anyway.

yes you need a mixer with 16 ins and 16 outs, then you can record and playback without any wire swapping. you will need 2 wiring looms with 16 phono to 16 jacks also.
good luck with the fostex, i am suprised you forked out for one without knowing how to plug one in.
