Hey, i have just bought my first eva proper recording multitracker, a tascam 414. its a tape recorder, and i was wondering that once i have got my sound onto the tape how would i get it onto a CD? could i just connect the line out to my mic input on my pc and transfer it that way? other ideas? tahnks

Line out on your tascam into the line-in on your computer would work just fine. Not the mic in socket, but if you have no choice you'll be okay but probably with added noise.

Software such as Audacity is free, and Reaper is very cheap and will work as well as anything else.

For better sound quality an external interface (firewire or usb) would be a good idea.

One way is to go from the tape outs (usually Left and Right rca) on your tascam to the line ins on your sound card.

What's your sound card like? An M-audio 24/96 would be perfect for this.

Are there any outputs on that thing?
