I have searched in books, online, and at my local guitar center for answers, but they have all been very unclear. I built my home studio with a control room and a live room and i need to get headphones from my digi003 out to the live room, and the mics through the wall into the digi003. guitar center said i need to order a custom patch bay, but my research online has given me a completely different definition of a patch bay/panel. what is the correct terminology for this piece of equipment so i can actually search for a company to make me one? If possible, does anybody know a company that would do it for me? Any help would be great.
thanks,
Tom

You can use an XLR snake to get your mics from your live room into the control room. I bought one on ebay for like 40 dollars and it suits me nicely.

Also to get the headphones into the live room you use either another patch bay for 1/4 connections or you can have a headphonr amp in the live room.

Goodluck. I suggest reading up if your going to do all of the work to build a studio.

yea, i've looked up the snake box and it seems like it could work. i have been told that snakes can pick up some noise and are more for live stage applications.
i'm a little confused about the headphone situation you were talking about though.

get a good snake, and you wont have any noise.

you need some really long headphone cables and an amplifier at the other end....

here's what you're going to want to do:

A)get a snake for the live room - this is what you'll plug all your mics into, and it will then run into the wall

B)install a wall panel between the live room and control room. get one with as many XLR connections as you need to go from the snake to the control room. make sure it also has however many 1/4" connections you need to go from the control room to the live room.

c)run the snake into the wall, then connect the wall to the 003. run the phones from the 003 to the wall, then from the wall out to the room.

if anything here doesn't make sense, i apologize in advance, and blame the 40's that i'm drinkning on
