Hi ...

Just as the heading asks ... How do I connect a nanocompressor to the Tascam 424 MK3 ? I wish to have a pretty clear route for the mic into the "mic in" and so I wish to connect the nano some other way as not to interfere with the mic pathway and perhaps generate more noise. (Now, I only record my vocals to pre-recorded music so it's pretty simple recording.). Please help.

Thanks.

I'm not terribly familiar with that unit, but there are only a few routes you can take (I think)...

1. Mic to Compressor to Recorder
2. Channel insert. I don't know if there is anything like that on the TASCAM, but that takes the signal from the mic, routes it to the comp. then to the channel for other effecting and eq (or after). You need a different type of cable, a TRS, has 1/4" on one end and two on the other. This allows signal to be sent and returned through one 1/4" plug via the design.
3. You can always bring in the comp through the fx send and return and dial it into the channel.

Hi DAL,

Thanks for the reply ... I'll try it and see what happens. If I need more help then I'll be sure to ask again.
