How come people have so much beef with FL studio?

I'm just curious why so many people don't take users that create with FL so seriously? just kinda always wondered that. Sometimes you get asked " so what do you use man? " and if you reply " FL studio" you get something like " lol..."

I'm not big FL fan defending it, actually I haven't even decided what to use for sequencing and recording, i'm thinking ableton live, or something else. Just curious about the FL disses

I've always wondered the same myself. For what I use FL for (drums, simple synths, bass, etc.), it more than suffices; however, there may be things beyond my level as far as making "beats" or "synth" stuff that FL cannot provide. But, imo a large degree of it likely stems from its simplicity - by simplicity I mean that it is so efficiently foolproof to use (a good thing), that the novice user can step up and create decent tracks quickly - this in turn creates the "other program" snob who will proclaim efficiency in the more difficult programs, scoffing at the better designed (imo) FL. Just a thought.

i've used it for a bit. it worked fine for what i used it for.

No diss to FL Studio, but it just didn't vibe with me. It's not a bad prog, just wasn't right for me. A lot of people hate the simplicity of it. Then you have the so called snobs who talk shit about it and say it's not real music because the learning curve isn't as difficult. But fuck that, music is music and if it bangs, I could give a fuck if it was Fruity Loops or Pro Tools. Bang that shit.

My experience is that many people esecially pros, diss Fruity Loops because they get a lot of crap music played to them by teenagers, and it's mosty done in Fruity Loops... But it's not the software that is crap it's the teenagers. :D

i agree with the above poster.

i hate FL personally.. but i've never taken the time to do anything more than just make a crappy click track with it.

then again.
i've heard some stuff made by some "FL pros" that was just incredible.. for what it is, its a solid program. if you vibe with it then by all means make some stuff with it.

some people might say that its too simple. a harmonica is simple but give one to a harmonica pro and they'll blow you away. it all comes down to 10 tracks on a CD. if those tracks sound good then who cares how they were made.

I would like to add to this thread by saying FL's is a great program, I admit anyone and there dog can run it, but I have done a lot of stuff on FL, and you can make some really good tracks doing it. I use FL as backing tracks for a lot of my songs, I import each track (sample track) into Sonar 4 then mix in drums and guitars and vocals, and it works great. I have over 10,000 samples so that might be why I haven't gotten board of it yet, but anyone who uses FL knows it's a great beginners program and it can be a blast when you know what you’re doing.

fl studio is like any other program. you will get out what you put in. it does have a simple interface but it's also pretty powerful. i used it for creating acoustic drum loops. i quit using it because it does'nt support multi-sampling like bfd or dfhs.

as a person who doesnt know what bfd and dfhs is...i like it for the basic stuff i can put out. i get people nodding their heads and thats all i need. i am going to learn how to use that sequencing feature on the triton but i havent bothered due to the fact that flstudio is too easy lol
