I need to know how i can hook a techincs standalone tapedeck to my PC to put cassette audio onto my computer. Im really new at audio recording, so try and go layman terms on me. Thank you.

OK. Here's what you'll need. Go to Radio Shack and pick up a stereo mini to RCA "Y" cable. Plug the stereo mini cable into your sound card's line ins and the two RCAs into the tape decks left/right output. Go to your Windows mixer (the Icon that looks like a speaker normally in the lower right-hand corner ) and right click on it and then click on "open volume controlls". Then click on "options" then "properties" then "recording" and make sure that "line in" is checked. The recrding mixer will apppear. Since your tape deck more than likely won't have a output level control this is where you'll have to set recording levels. Now I've been assuming you have some kind of recording software like cool edit pro or sound forge or something. You'll need that if you don't already have it. If you do, yer off to the races. Good luck.
