How can I get more confidence as a singer?

I'm not surprised they wanted you to sing! I don't hear the problem, dude.
Just go for it and assume that it'll definitely be amazing.

The best singers are cocky. ;)

Perhaps you could open up just a little bit more, but I wouldn't go so far as to call this timid.

Oh, and fair play for the ballsy 80s rasp falsetto bit. :)
 
Sleep with your guitar players mom. Always good for a confidence boost. :)

I'm just kidding BTW. Bass players moms are usually better for this. lol
 
LOL! I need confidence like Bill Gates needs a loan ;-)

The trick to singing is to walk in and look around at everyone like "you know" You have the biggest "microphone" in the room... And then perform that way.

I tell people being a singer is 90% up hear (points at noggin) About 6% down here (NO HERE!) points at gut. And about 4% up here (points at neck/face)

If you don't believe it, no one else will...
 
A Departure from all of the "can I sing? please tell me!!??" Posts, yes... Guilty..

I thought instead? I would post something for people to aspire too... I am singing the lead, and all of the background vocals, and it's really good. I can tell you, sing with confidence! Own it! On songs like this, "I flex up?" Like a body builder? All flexed up, and tight? To get a certain sound?

Most will either ignore, insult, or dismiss. That's fine, I'm a big boy :-) But I think it's a pretty good example of Stadium Rock! Step up people! We can all sing!! Just believe in yourselves...

I looked hard for an example of you singing? But I didn't find it... :-( There are "many" examples of me singing? LOL! "Who? exactly is not confident? ;-) LOL!"

There are different examples of singing and confidence? My OP was "tongue and cheek?" I am a talented singer (obviously?)

I enjoy opportunities to review others who have talent. There are many (dozens) of people who are all like, am I any good? Please rate my crap? It's 95% of what's posted on the singing forum... The "vast majority" of what is posted here "sucks?" And by "vast majority" I mean 95+ percent..."

Some people have promise? They are the exception... Most people are really bad.

Then quit asking questions about things that aren't an issue! lol!

You got some talent. Be confident in that, and improve yourself by whatever degree you wish to aspire to. You don't suck, so you don't have to worry about inability to be great. :)
 
I want people to follow me? Be singers... This is a singers forum?

"I am a singer?" Others are too... I am saying? "If you think you are a singer? Or if you think you are not a singer?" You're probably right... I "know that I am a singer..." I know it! You have to own it! If you have any indecision? You will not be successful.
 
And don't let anyone who cannot, or will not? Provide an example of them "singing?" Give you advice as a singer... There are examples on this thread... I.e., me as a singer? Others who are not singers providing input... We report? You decide...

One does not have to show proof of their ability as a singer, to have an opinion. In fact,... Aw nevermind, im not gonna waste any more time on this.

Keep doing what you do. I would recommend that you refrain from asking questions that you disregard with your own answers tho. Inconfidence/confidence? Which is it? I'm confused, and no, I won't post a sample. I didn't ask a question about my confidence.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving, my intent as a singer is really just to share my music? I'm glad several of you had a chance to listen, and I hope you enjoyed it. I believe it was a good performance (Stadium Rock) it was an original (not by me, but they did want me to sing it) And there was a live drummer?

Again, for the singer's forum, I believe appropriate, as I know a lot of folks are working on it. Singing is its own thing. And I believe singers, like drummers are born and then made better through training and practice. I know many enjoy making fun of my antics? And I am nuttier than a pecan pie, but this boy can sing, (better than most.) And "THAT" is what it's all about. You can laugh and joke about other things, but not that. (some will still try, that's OK. But facts are difficult things) Besides? The singing forum is usually pretty dull. So, "you're welcome!"

I hope everyone has a great holiday season!
