How can I convert .wav files to Mp3 files?

Hey guys, sorry if this is an old question, but its new to me.

Do any of 'yall know of any free programs/shareware/utilities that will convert .Wav files to Mp3 Files?

Yup.
There are many out there on the net.
Type in "Free MP3 Encoders", you'll find one to download.
I use SCMPX, like it. (Free)
Stay away from Blade Encoder. It blows..

Actually....

Blade is supposed to be pretty decent at higher encoding rates. It is just at 128kbs that it bites.

Blade is also popular.But recently lame has surpassed fraunhoffer(the one in MM Jukebox)as the favorite.
